2-day hut tour Schesaplana (stage 1) | Brand
Tour description
From the Brand Innertal parking lot in front of Haus Calanda, a narrow path leads up to the right past the Palüdbach stream and Glingabrunnen fountain. The trail continues into the Zalimtal valley, past the Untere Brüggele Alpe via serpentines to the Oberzalim Hütte (overnight accommodation). Continue via the Leibersteig, a well-secured climb, to the Mannheimer Hütte (overnight stay).
Please note: there are still snowfields in spring!

Day 1: approx. 2 ½ hours to the Oberzalim Hütte (overnight stay possibility)
Variant 2
Day 1: approx. 6 ½ hours via the Leibersteig to the Mannheimer Hütte (overnight stay)

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a full water bottle and hiking poles are recommended. In addition, equipment for an overnight stay in a mountain hut and, if necessary, hiking boots for crossing the glacier field. Cell phone for emergencies.

We recommend sure-footedness, a head for heights and alpine experience. This tour is not recommended in wet conditions and when there are still snowfields on the Leibersteig and below the Schesaplana. You can divide the ascent per day and hours according to the weather and your own requirements.
