2-day hut tour Schesaplana (stage 2) | Brand
Tour description
After spending the night at the Mannheimer Hütte, the second day takes you across the Brandner Gletscher (glacier, groomed and generally easy to walk on) to the Schesaplana. Descend to the Totalphütte on a well-trodden path (be careful in spring - snow fields!) to the Lünersee and via the Böser Tritt (or with the Lünerseebahn) to the Lünerseebahn valley station. On foot or by bus from the Lünerseebahn valley station back to Brand.
Variant 1
Day 2 after the overnight stay at the Oberzalim Hütte: approx. 7 hours via the Leibersteig to the Lünerseebahn mountain station, another 45 minutes via the Böser Tritt to the Lünerseebahn valley station, another 2 hours from the Lünerseebahn valley station to Brand (Innertal).

Day 2 after the overnight stay at the Mannheimer Hütte: approx. 5 hours to the Lünerseebahn mountain station, another 45 minutes via the Böser Tritt to the Lünerseebahn valley station, another 2 hours from the Lünerseebahn valley station to Brand (Innertal).
Note: The times given are approximate. Depending on fitness, weather conditions or other circumstances, the walking time may be shorter or longer.

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a full water bottle and hiking poles are recommended. In addition, equipment for an overnight stay in a mountain hut and, if necessary, hiking boots for crossing the glacier field. Cell phone for emergencies.

Safety instructions
We recommend sure-footedness, a head for heights and alpine experience. This tour is not recommended in wet conditions and when there are still snowfields on the Leibersteig and below the Schesaplana. You can divide the ascent per day and hours according to the weather and your own requirements.
