3-day tour in the Grosses Walsertal Biosphere Reserve with overnight stay at the Biberacher Hütte and the Göppinger Hütte
Tour description
The 3-day tour starts at the church in Buchboden. It descends via the Obere Ischgarneialpe to Schwarzegga, from where the last section of the trail to the Biberacher Hütte is clearly visible. The first overnight stop is at the Biberacher Hütte.
On the second day, the trail leads along the foot of the Rothorn to the Lite Hütte. The route climbs gently via the Lägerzun Alpe to the Braunarlfürggele (2,145 m). Partly exposed and secured by ropes, the trail follows the north ridge to the summit of the Braunarlspitze (2,649 m). Often still covered in firn in early summer, often icy in late summer. The descent to the Göppinger Hütte (2nd overnight stay) is steep and unsecured.
On the third and final day, the trail leads down via the Gamsboden to the Metzgertobelalpe. Along the Lutzbach stream back to Buchboden.

Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a full water bottle and hiking poles are recommended. Additional equipment for an overnight stay in a refuge. Cell phone for emergencies.
